Sustainable Hospitality Summit @ Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey Bay

Building on the momentum generated from the 1st Monterey Bay Sustainable Hospitality Symposium held in the fall 2017, the 2nd Monterey Bay Sustainable Hospitality Development Summit brings together industry, government and practitioners focused on advancing sustainability in the hospitality sector.

The Summit is set for Friday January 11 at the Portola Plaza Hotel & Spa in beautiful downtown Monterey, California. The Summit is designed to inspire the Monterey Bay community and region to establish leadership in the development and implementation of sustainable practices in the hospitality, ecotourism, eco-recreation, and wellness products. Summit goals include:

  • Providing an understanding of the return on investment of sustainable practices.
  • Establishing a baseline of regional sustainable practices currently in place and possibilities of sustainable actions to pursue.
  • Acknowledging impending state regulations and providing tools for compliance.

James W. Potts is a 35 year HR professional, Juris Doctorate, expert witness, LA Talk readio host, author, former Master Teacher and Reserve Captain with the Sheriff’s Department. He fights on behalf of employers in front of the EEOC, DFEH, DLSE, DOL, EDD, and other agencies. Mr. Potts has a B.A. in history and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of West Los Angeles Law School. He is a certified mediator and expert witness specializing in employment law and workplace rights.
