Old Monterey Walking Food Tour @ Monterey
Jun 27 @ 11:00 am

Follow a delicious trail of local treats through historic Monterey on a small-group food tour that includes plenty of tastings for a full lunch. Committing to lunch at a single restaurant means missing out on the diverse cuisines that make Monterey food so interesting; try a little bit of everything as you go from neighborhood restaurants to frozen treats and California wine, learning about Monterey history along the way.

What to expect:

Meet your guide at the Historic Custom House and embark upon your epicurean exploration of Monterey. Stops may include a step back in time as small bites are enjoyed in a historic setting. Venture to Alvarado Street and the hidden gems of downtown Monterey’s back streets where locals dine. Enjoy dishes from traditional Indian or Greek cuisine to local cider and pasta in a gastropub to deep dish pizza. Next, visit an artisan ice cream shop, sample handcrafted Ice cream while visiting the kitchen. Continue past many historic buildings in Monterey including a couple of California’s firsts. Finally, sip local wine and savor delicious local cheese in Old Monterey’s first winemaker tasting room or while you browse the art of 30 local artists. Bid your guide and group farewell but feel free to remain in the gallery or tasting room after the tour concludes.

Tours range from 1-2 miles and last approximately 3 hours.

Is the tour recommended for children?

Monterey Bay Food Tours leaves the decision to bring children up to the parents, but no special accommodations are made to include special menus or pricing.
